Lawrenceville Man Mitchell Hamilton Arrested For Selling Counterfeit DVD

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- A Lawrenceville man was arrested after police said they found thousands of counterfeit DVDs at his home.

Detectives began conducting surveillance after a resident complained that someone was selling counterfeit DVDs out of a silver Chevrolet Tracker on Pleasant Hill Road, Gwinnett police Cpl. Jake Smith said. Smith said they tracked down the car and found 66-year-old Mitchell Hamilton selling counterfeit DVDs.

With the help of an investigator for the Motion Picture Association of America, detectives searched Hamilton’s home and found a room dedicated to manufacturing counterfeit DVDs, Smith said. He said detectives seized two computers, three multi-DVD recorders, six photo printers used to make jackets for the DVDs, and 6,092 counterfeit DVDs.

Hamilton was charged with illegally making and selling recorded materials and counterfeited trademarks, among other offenses.
