Large water main break on Clairmont Road

A major water main break in DeKalb County had hundreds of residents along Clairmont Road in Chamblee without water on Saturday.

Crews have been scrambling all day Saturday trying to repair the break near the 3900 block of Clairmont Road.

The rupture was reported to authorities around 6 a.m. Saturday.

Traffic along Clairmont Road was rerouted due to the large leaks.

Residents along a quarter mile stretch around the water main break are having their service affected.

Crews believe the age of the pipe is to blame. They are expected to work through Sunday moing to fix the break.
