IS THE Kardashian "brand" a sinking ship? (One can only hope...) And could it be dragging Kanye West down with it?

Well, according to several experts, Kardashian and West are a match made in marketing hell.

"When putting two egotistical, self serving individuals together, you’ll create a rather vile spark. And in times of economic hardship across the country, bragging about materialism is typically frowned upon," public relations expert Angie Meyer-Olszewski told Fox News.

"The Kardashian brand is a sinking ship. Anybody who jumps on board will eventually fall. A successful celebrity in his own right, Kanye made a horrible strategic decision by engaging himself with Kim," she added.

West, who has compared himself to everyone from Jesus, to Shakespeare, to Andy Warhol, has seen his credibility take a hit since he hooked up with the selfie-loving star.

According to Radaronline.com, West’s Q Scores - the industry’s rating system for a celebrity’s popularity - has dropped a massive 66 percent in the last 18 months.

His Yeezus tour has also had its problems, with a recent show in Kansas City drawing only 4,500 fans in an arena with a capacity of 19,000.

Kardashian’s reality "career" also looks as if it might be winding down (again, one can only hope); Keeping Up With The Kardashians pulls in fewer than two million viewers each episode in the US (nowhere near its height of four million) and spin-off shows with sisters Kourteney and Chloe have stopped altogether.

“We are often drawn to people who have an ego and confidence that is derived from their talent. But an empty ego, based on a fake self-inflated image and concept, creates an over powering sense of desperation and superficiality,” human behaviour expert Patrick Wanis told Fox News.

We couldn’t agree more.
