Judge Kenneth Nix Retires After Allegations He Inappropriately Touched a Prosecutor

ATLANTA - Court records reveal a Cobb County Superior Court judge decided to retire early as part of a deal to avoid formal ethics charges.

Documents filed this week at the Georgia Supreme Court revealed that Kenneth O. Nix announced he would retire in October after the state Judicial Qualifications Commission signaled it would investigate allegations of misconduct.

Nix announced his decision in August amid accusations he had inappropriately touched a Cobb County prosecutor and investigator while posing with the two ladies for a photograph in his office.
