Johns Creek Man Sentenced on Child Porn Charges
Authorities say Dirk LaPaglio, 53, edited photos of his daughter's friend onto pornographic images.

A Johns Creek man accused of manufacturing hundreds of sexually explicit photos of underage girls was sentenced to six years in federal prison Thursday.

Prosecutors said the Dirk LaPaglio, 53, took photos of his daughter’s friends, swim teammates and other girls in the neighborhood over the course of 10 years. He then allegedly edited those pictures onto poographic images of children found on the Inteet.

LaPaglio was arrested in September after authorities found over 100 images of child po on computers in his home and in garbage cans out front.

Authorities identified 21 of the girls in the pictures. Three of them testified in court on Thursday.

Assistant U.S. Attoey Robert McBuey said the sentence took into account some of his other deviant acts.

McBuey said LaPaglio secretly entered neighbors’ homes and filmed himself performing auto-erotic activities in the girls’ bedrooms. He also sent lewd letters and lingerie to the girls, McBuey said.

As a condition of LaPaglio’s bond, he is not allowed to go into the neighborhood.

LaPaglio has around 90 days until he must surrender himself to serve the sentence.
