Jennifer Lopez, P.Diddy, fall out over American Idol seat

IT MAY be more than a decade since Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Jennifer Lopez broke up (we think he was Puffy or Piddy or something), but it looks as if the exes aren’t exactly on friendly terms.

Rumor has it that Combs was in contention for a spot on American Idol's judging panel - until J.Lo decided to take another seat at the table.

An American Idol source says that the mogul passed on the opportunity because of his apparently not-so-ancient history with Lopez, as well as his history with Lopez's manager, Benny Medina. (Medina also previously managed Combs; they parted ways several years ago.)

Combs allegedly pulled the "it’s her or me" threat. They chose her.

Incidentally, Lopez and Combs had a near run-in on Idol in 2012, when he appeared as a guest mentor. Ultimately, Comb’s appearance was pre-taped, but Lopez appeared just a little flustered by his involvement.

Combs isn’t the only hip-hop star who's had a near-miss with Idol recently. Apparently Kanye West was approached for judging duties by the enduring talent show, but tued it down, fearing it would damage his credibility (surely dating a Kardashian will do that).

So far, only Lopez and Keith Urban look set to retu for the show’s 13th season. We wait with baited breath…
