Police say a Jeep driver slammed into a Cobb County home early Wednesday moing

The incident happened just before 5 a.m. at a home in the 200 block of Sanford Road in Smya

Authorities say four people, including two children where inside the house at the time of the accident.

"It looks like the driver misunderstood the dynamics of the roadway," said Smya Police Officer Louis Defense. "We can't say that his speed was excessive but it wound up catapulting the vehicle into the side of the home."

The driver was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the vehicle was not hurt

Authorities are still investigating what led to the Jeep going airboe into the house.

Crews removed the Jeep and covered the gaping hole in the house with a tarp.
