ATLANTA - Flights were back on schedule at many Japanese airports Monday afteoon and a flight from Tokyo arrived at Hartsfield-Jackson Inteational Airport.

Many passengers said they were surprised at how smoothly things ran at the Tokyo airport Monday moing. Many travelers that were trying to get back to Atlanta were unable to catch connecting flights in Tokyo following Friday's earthquake, but flights were back on schedule.

One couple arrived in Atlanta from Japan Monday and they described what it was like being in Japan when the massive earthquake hit.

"We couldn't stand up, actually. It was so scary, but my family and my husband are OK. We were so worried about my family, because my parents are 80-years-old, so we decided to stay a few days," said Sumiko Horiuchi.

Horiuchi said that while her family is OK, she is worried about friends who live near the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant. Horiuchi said her friends evacuated the area, but she has had a difficult time getting information about what's going on in the area.
