A 17-year-old Rockdale County teenager involved in a fatal shooting at a house party was given a $100,000 bond Monday, a county assistant district attoey said.

Tevin Awquin Williams, 17, was one of two people arrested at a house party last November. Police went to the house twice: once around 9 p.m. for a noise complaint and then again after three teenagers were shot.

Dequavious Stephon Mapp, 18, later died at Atlanta Medical Center.

Williams and James Wansley Edwards, now 18, were arrested. Edwards also was given a $100,000 bond during a Feb. 14 court appearance, Rockdale County Assistant District Attoey Paul Stalcup said.

Williams and Edwards remain in jail, according to Stalcup, who said he could not discuss the details of the pending cases.

Williams and Edwards face charges of reckless conduct, aggravated assault, discharging a firearm on or near a public highway, and possession of a pistol by a person under 18 years of age.

Williams also is charged with theft by receiving stolen property.

Mapp’s death came a year after his older brother, Durante Mapp, was shot to death in DeKalb County. Dequavious Mapp planned to study architecture after high school, his mother told the AJC last November.
