Honda workers claim portion of record Mega Millions pot

A group of 25 assembly line workers from a Honda manufacturing plant near Birmingham, Ala., matched the first five winning numbers from the record-breaking $656 million Mega Millions jackpot drawing.

The lottery pool, dubbed ”The Lucky 25, won a $250,000 second prize. The pool was one of six Georgia Lottery players to win a quarter-million dollars in the March 30 drawing. The prize was split equally among the 25 winners.

”Just the thought of accepting a check to spend from contributing $10 is exciting, said pool member Wanda McClellan of Anniston, Ala.

The majority of the workers who contributed to the pool work the second and third shifts on Honda’s Powertrain engine-assembly line in Lincoln, Ala.
