Hines Ward Arrested For DUI In DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- According to the DeKalb County Jail’s website, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward has been arrested for DUI.

There is very little information known at this time about the circumstances surrounding his arrest, but Ward was booked into the jail at about 3:45 a.m. Saturday and charged with misdemeanor DUI.

According to the website, Ward bonded out on $1,000 bond.

This is not the first time Ward has had driving issues in DeKalb County. Records show Ward pleaded guilty to reckless driving back in April of 2007, paying a $1,350 fine.

Ward not only grew up in the Atlanta area, but he also was a star wide receiver for the University of Georgia Bulldogs. Since being drafted in the third round out of Georgia in 1998, the 35-year-old Ward has been a four-time Pro Bowl selection and won two Super Bowls.

Dancing with professional partner Kym Johnson, Ward in May became the second professional football player to win the ABC smash dancing competition, "Dancing with the Stars."

He bested actresses Kirstie Alley and Chelsea Kane to become the season 12 champion of the TV celebrity dance competition.
