Georgia State Patrol say rain may have played a role in the crash that killed a high school senior on Bomar Road in Douglas County

According to the incident report, 18-year-old Jadaya Anthony died early Friday moing when she lost control of her car, slid off the road and crashed into a tree. She died at the scene.

Anthony went to New Manchester High School.

The school's principal, Connie Craft, posted a statement on its website saying, in part:

The death of any young person is a loss that affects each of us in one way or another. Condolences go out to her family and friends as well as our school family and community. We have asked the assistance of our crisis team to help our school community deal with this loss. We are providing support to students and staff to help them cope. We suggest that you discuss this matter with your son or daughter and respond to any questions that arise.

Anthony was a member of the Atlanta Boom! volleyball club.
