A lockdown was in place at Charles Drew High School in Riverdale after a student's body was found near the school early Wednesday moing but it has since been lifted.

The incident was first reported around 8 a.m. when a neighbor found the body of Cedric Clark, 17, in their backyard and called police. The teen was shot to death, Clayton County Police said Wednesday. Authorities believe the teen, from College Park, was shot Tuesday night.

"For me to find him like that, I don't even know what to say, it's crazy," Clark's brother, Anthony Lewis, told CBS46.  "I was just with him."

Police said they're actively investigating leads but also looking for input from the public.

A soft lockdown was issued for Charles Drew High School as an investigation was conducted. A crisis intervention team has been brought into the school.

"The minute we stepped off the bus, they rushed us to class," one student said.

"My first reaction was, 'Okay, get in the car, let's go get them,'" one parent added.  "That's my only reaction."
