Hall County deputy Anthony Seda killed in crash

A 21-year-old Hall County sheriff’s deputy died in a crash Wednesday evening.

Anthony Seda was killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 985 about 7:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office announced. He was off duty at the time.

Seda was driving northbound on I-985 when he went off the road, crashing into the median, Georgia State Patrol Cpl. Curtis Bradshaw said. He said Seda’s motorcycle overtued several times and he was ejected from it.

The crash is under investigation by the GSP, but at this point it is unclear what caused the crash. Bradshaw said alcohol or drug use doesn’t appear to be a factor.

Seda had been with the Sheriff’s Office for about a year, under the jail division. He was scheduled to transfer to the Uniform Patrol Division next week.
