Hadiya Pendleton: Walking angel teen who performed in inauguration killed in Chicago
Last Tuesday, Hadiya Pendleton was probably still buzzing from her performance during President Obama's inauguration. Yesterday, the 15-year-old was shot and killed in an upscale neighborhood in Chicago.
Pendleton, described by relatives as "a walking angel," wasn’t believed to be the gunman's target, according to police. "As usual, the bad guy aims, but he never hits the other bad guy," her godfather, Damon Stewart, said. "He hits the one that hurts the most to lose." Pendleton was a majorette in the marching band at Chicago's "selective" King College Prep High School. "There's a lot of people crying in school today," one classmate said.
