Gwinnett Woman Amber Dowell Charged in Attempted Toys For Tots Fraud
A Gwinnett County woman accused of financial fraud tued herself in on Wednesday.
Police say Amber Dowell tried to pass herself off as a representative of a charitable organization to get $5,000 worth of toys at the Toys For Tots distribution warehouse.
Staff who researched Dowell's request found that she was no longer a member of the West Walton football and cheer booster.
In November, she was fired and accused of credit card fraud.
Dowell never received any toys from Toys for Tots.
