Gwinnett County authorities said they have arrested a high school teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with one of her students.

Investigators said Julee Sams Impara, 48, met the teenage boy while she was his teacher at Mill Creek High School. The boy’s mother found several inappropriate messages on her son’s phone and confront the Impara, who did not deny an inappropriate relationship. The boy told police they began to have sexual contact outside of school and he said she even picked him up at his home at least once.

Impara was arrested and charged with sexual assault.

Gwinnett County Schools said Impara is no longer an employee there.
