Gov.-elect Nathan Deal Names Erin Hames as Policy Deputy

ATLANTA - Gov.-elect Nathan Deal is continuing to fill his administration.  On Wednesday, Deal named Erin Hames as deputy chief of staff for policy.

Hames, a former middle school teacher, was a policy director for Gov. Sonny Perdue and most recently chief of staff at the state Department of Education. She has led the state’s succesful campaign to win federal Race to the Top dollars for education.

Deal has tapped Atlanta attoey Todd Markle as his executive counsel.

And he said Rachelle Caesale, acting director for the Office of the Child Advocate, will serve as the director of Georgia Division of Family and Children Services.

Gena Evans will stay on as executive director of the State Road and Tollway Authority.
