Good samaritan struck helping driver
A good Samaritan was critically injured helping another driver Saturday moing, police said.
The crash happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 85, just south of a construction zone. Channel 2’s Sophia Choi went to the interstate, which was closed between North Druid Hills and Clairmont Road while police investigated.
Police said a drunken driver crashed into a construction barrel and a large sign. A man changing a tire on a pickup truck nearby witnessed the crash and went over to help, police said. When the man was retuing to his car, he was struck by another car police said.
The victim was taken to Grady Hospital in critical condition.
