Georgia Tech student Ruth Bakatukanda killed in hit-and-run crash in Atlanta

SAVANNAH, GA - Authorities say a Georgia Tech student was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident on I-85 in South Fulton County Saturday.
Ruth Bakatukanda, 23, from Congo, was rushed to a nearby hospital , where she died days later from her injuries.
The driver of the car is on the run and police told Washington that information about what happened is still very limited.
Ruth Bakatukanda was a former Savannah State University cheerleader, who was now a junior at Georgia Tech.
There is now the hastag #RIPRuth on Twitter as people send their condolences.
In just one day, more than $6,000 had been raised for Bakatukanda’s medical expenses before she succumbed to her injuries. The money will now go toward funeral costs.
Funeral arrangements are being made at this time.
