Georgia schools to remain closed for 3rd straight day

ATLANTA - Many school districts across the state will remain closed for a third straight day Wednesday as road are expected to refreeze after thawing a bit.

Districts include Gwinnett, Cobb, Fulton, Paulding, Spalding, Hall and Dawson counties. The list also includes Atlanta, Marietta and Griffin-Spalding schools.

Other districts were waiting until later in the evening Tuesday to decide whether to close. Temperatures are expected to dip into the teens Tuesday night and remain around freezing Wednesday, preventing much of the ice from melting.

Georgia was hit with up to 8 inches of snow as a winter storm moved through the state late Sunday and Monday. Roads across the state were coated in ice and many were undriveable.
