Georgia officers shoot innocent man William Powell in the neck after responding to the WRONG HOUSE
Henry County Police say officers responded to the wrong house and shot the homeowner.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting that happened Wednesday on the 600 block of Swan Lake Road in Stockbridge.
According to the GBI, someone called 911 a little before midnight Tuesday to report hearing gunshots and a woman yelling for help. The caller couldn’t give them an exact address.

The man was sent to hospital after he was shot in the neck Tuesday night by officers who responded to the wrong address
A preliminary review of the 911 call indicates the three officers who responded went to the wrong home, the GBI said.
The GBI said the officers were met by the homeowner, 63-year-old William Powell, who was armed with a handgun.
One of the officers shot Powell in the neck after he ignored verbal commands to drop the gun.
Powell was taken to a hospital for treatment. He is in critical condition.
Powell's wife said he thought an intruder was in his yard, so he grabbed his gun and went outside after hearing the commotion, WTVM reported.
The woman who had been reported screaming told police she was involved in a verbal argument and wasn't hurt.
