GDOT Contract Worker Killed While Mowing Grass
A contract worker for the Georgia Department of Transportation is dead after he was struck by a vehicle near Freedom Parkway Wednesday.
Police say the worker was mowing the grass near Freedom Parkway and the Interstate 75 north off ramp when the victim was struck and killed.
The driver -- identified as 21-year old Glenn Johnson -- was traveling east on Freedom Parkway when for some reason Johnson lost control of the vehicle, jumped the median and struck the worker, say police.
Georgia Newsday has leaed that the victim was working for Bromell Manicured Lawns.
Police are investigating the incident and say Johnson will be charged with vehicular homicide in the second degree and failure to maintain lane.
The name of the victim has not been released.
