- Human remains discovered by police may be those of a missing Buford mother whose wrecked car was found in October of 2016, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Tosha Reed Herron, 36, of  Gwinnett County, has been missing since Oct. 7, 2016 while on her way to the north Georgia mountains.

Herron's father, Keith Reed, found her crashed vehicle on October 12, 2016 off of Highway 129 North in Lumpkin County, Georgia.

A search effort by the GBI, Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office and Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office Rapid Response Team found the remains as well as a boot that matched a boot Herron was wearing at the time of her disappearance.

The remains have been taken to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Officer for examination and identification.
