Gas Scarce as Icy Roads Hamper Delivery

ATLANTA - Motorists pulling into a gas station or convenience store to fill up their vehicle may find that the pumps are empty.

One QuikTrip store in Lawrenceville had empty pumps Thursday moing.

A QuikTrip official says the store and others may temporarily run out of gas. Tanker trucks were not able to get on the roads from Monday to Wednesday due to the winter storm.

Local reporter Chris Shaw reports that ice is so bad in the parking lots, they've been using jackhammers to break it, and get to the gas tank covers.

Tanker trucks are to be out in full force Thursday. QuikTrip officials say it will take a day or two to get gas supplies back to normal.

QuikTrip officials say if you see no pricing posted for gas, they are empty.
