GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- Police say a knife-wielding woman was arrested after she attempted to attack a man with a butcher knife.

According to the incident report, Lisa Faye Wintermyer, 37, damaged a door inside the home located in the 4400 block of Wahoo Drive in northe Hall County. While the man was trying to dial 911, police said, Wintermyer took the phone away, then lunged towards the victim with a butcher knife.

The man was able to block the knife from wounding him by knocking it away, police said. At that point he was able to grab his phone and dial 911. But, police said, while he was on the phone with the 911 operator, Wintermyer attempted to strangle the victim.

Wintermyer was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, obstruction of an emergency call and criminal trespass.
