A former DeKalb County high school bookkeeper Shirlene Benton who pleaded guilty to taking more than $12,000 will serve at least six months in jail.
 
Benton will serve the rest of her 10-year sentence on probation and has to pay $12,000 in restitution.

A school system audit showed Benton used school money to buy a blue ray DVD player, a 50-inch plasma television, an iPod and other items for herself. She did not immediately retu a call for comment.
