Ga. Poultry Worker Joseph Leking Allen Accused of Attacking Co-Worker

Authorities say they've arrested a man in connection with an attack on a female co-worker outside the Pilgrim's Pride poultry plant in Athens.

Police say the 29-year-old woman was pulled from her car in the parking lot.

Police tell the Athens Banner-Herald ( http://bit.ly/zZ4Vzu) that part of her upper lip was to off, several of her teeth were knocked out and a deep gash was opened below her eye. She was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Police say the attack happened shortly after both workers had finished their shifts and were about to drive home around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say 32-year-old Joseph Leking Allen was charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault and kidnapping. Athens-Clarke County jail records do not indicate whether Allen has an attoey.
