ATLANTA — Authorities in DeKalb County are investigating the death of a man who was shot by police in Decatur.

WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/TaKiMV) reports the incident unfolded just after 3 p.m. Friday.

Officials say the man was armed with a knife and may have been trying to break into cars before police arrived.

Responding officers used a Taser on the man, and say he got in the driver's seat of a police car before he was shot.

The man later died at a local hospital and information on his identity was not immediately available.

The two officers who were involved in the incident were placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure while the incident is under investigation.
