Ga. Ex-Pastor Kenneth Terrell Admits To Taking Church Money
SAVANNAH, Ga. -- The former pastor of New Harvest Inteational Ministries pleaded guilty in Savannah to embezzling at least $200,000 from the church.
Kenneth Terrell pleaded guilty on Wednesday. He was indicted on Jan. 4 on wire fraud charges.
The 46-year-old Terrell handled the finances for building a new church for New Harvest. A joint investigation by the U.S. Secret Services and Savannah-Chatham Metro police showed that instead of using the money for construction, he used it for personal gain.
Terrell is facing a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He remains in jai, pending sentencing.
Terrell also is awaiting trial on molestation charges. He has been accused of molesting an Effingham County boy younger than 5 who attended New Harvest with his family.
