Friends of a teen murdered in the parking lot of a Fulton County high school after a homecoming game describe the incident as shocking.

"I didn't think something like that would happen," said Khyra Perry, a friend of Kristofer Hunter, the teen who was murdered.

Fulton County Schools said Kristofer was not a student at Langston Hughes High School in Fairbu where the incident happened.

"Kris has always been the type of person to smile, no matter what," said Perry.

Police said the game ended, and students gathered in the parking lot where the incident happened.

Perry said the teens were all preparing to go to a Waffle House.

"My best friend called me and she said, ‘Somebody just told me Kris just got shot,'" said Mikayla Walton, a friend of the teen who died.

Police do not have a motive, but said Kris was shot in the stomach.

They do not have a suspect and said they are now interviewing witnesses.

"I met Kris in the seventh grade. We've been best friends since the seventh grade," said Perry.

She said Kristofer loved football and wanted to eventually play professionally.

"He liked to play football. He was really good," said Perry.

Kristofer's friends said the teen attended McClarin High School in College Park.

If you have information that would assist investigators, you are asked to call the Fulton County School Police Department at 404-305-3350.
