It is a sad statistic in which Fulton County leads the state.

”We have to monitor the largest number of sex offenders within Fulton County, Sgt. Hector Caballero from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office told a Wednesday afteoon news conference at the Law Enforcement Training Center in College Park.

Now, Fulton County has joined the Offender Watch Network of 5000 law enforcement agencies – 40 of them in Georgia – in providing a real-time stream of information on the whereabouts of known sexual offenders and predators. It can tell you where they are within a two mile radius of your address.

Much of the information you can obtain through Fulton County’s Offender Watch portal is also available through the GBI’s website – with two big differences, said Caballero.

”Individuals who come to work or attend school in Fulton County but do not live in Fulton County, we register them, he explained.

And if a sex offender fails to register, Offender Watch can tell you that as well, Caballero said. For more information, check www.fultonsheriff.org.
