Fugitive Calvin Meeks Arrested at Ex-NBA Star's Home

Federal agents raided the home of former NBA player, Antonio Davis looking for 38-year-old Calvin Meeks. Investigators said Meeks is wanted out of Chicago.

"Meeks was wanted for two counts of kidnapping, unlawful restraint, home invasion and burglary out of the Chicago area," said James Ergas of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

U.S. Marshals said the alleged kidnapping and home invasion involving Meeks happened on February 1 and Meeks ran to Atlanta to stay with his friend.

"We have tracked him to this area and this residence for at least a week," said Ergas.

Once U.S. Marshals raided Davis' home, they found Meeks in a back bedroom, just above the garage. Investigators said there was no indication that the former NBA star knew his friend was a wanted man.

"I believe they were friends, but don't believe Mr. Davis knew he was wanted for the crimes he's been accused of. I think they're saddened by the fact their friend has done this and then came to their home and didn't tell them what was going on with him," said Ergas.

Davis declined to comment on the incident, and agents said he wasn't involved.

Meeks now faces numerous charges, including kidnapping and home invasion. Meeks was taken to the Fulton County jail.
