Plane crash shuts down I-285 in both directions

Georgia Newsday has leaed a small plane has crashed near DeKalb–Peachtree Airport Friday moing.

The plane crashed onto I-285 at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard killing 4. Traffic is shut down in both direction. The medical examiner has been called to the scene.

A source said the pilot reported an issue on take off and said "hey, we're going down."

The FAA tells reporters it was a Piper PA-32 aircraft that went down after departing from Runway 3Right DeKalb-Peachtree Airport.
