ATLANTA - The North Forsyth High School football player who collapsed during practice last month is expected to make a full recovery.

Doctors at the Shepherd Center are crediting a quick response on the field.

They say that's the reason 17-year old Josh Haddock is alive.

Haddock was admitted to the center September 7. Officials say Haddock is participating in a rehabilitation program under the guidance of a full team of medical and rehabilitation specialists at Shepherd Center.

At the time when Haddock was practicing, his mother said the teen complained of a headache during practice, then collapsed.

A trainer kept Haddock breathing until paramedics arrived.

Surgeons at Northside Hospital operated on the teen in an effort to drain blood building around his brain.

The teen's mother said she believes her son may have been hit during practice, and that may have set off the bleeding.
