Former Gwinnett County Police officer Scott York indicted in fatal accident
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - A grand jury has indicted a former Gwinnett County Police officer after authorities said he hit and killed a teen.
Scott York is charged with homicide by vehicle, reckless driving, and speeding.
Jose Coreas-Mejia, 16, and his 18-year-old cousin were walking on Singleton Road in January.
Investigators said York was driving 97 miles an hour on his way to a call when he hit them.
He was fired after the accident.
Coreas-Mejia died from his injuries.
