FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. - One man is dead after a fatal accident in the un-incorporated part of Fayette County late Thursday night.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says 26-year old Brian Schoack was killed while the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a 1994 Jeep Wrangler – driven by 18-year old Bobby Pye -- at the intersection of Georgia Highway 85 South and Porter Road.

Authorities say Schoack was approaching Porter Road on Georgia Highway 85 South when Pye began a left tu onto the highway and into the path of Schoack. Schoack was unable to avoid striking the Jeep Wrangler. The motorcycle struck the Jeep in the northbound lane of Georgia Highway 85 South. Schoak was ejected from the motorcycle.

Schoack was pronounced dead at the scene. Fayette sheriff officials say Schoack was wearing the proper gear for riding a motorcycle.

Pye was slightly injured and declined to be transported.

The sheriff's office says charges are pending.
