Family mourns Cobb County woman Rhonda Callihan killed by roommate
Police say 49-year-old Rhonda Callihan was shot to death by her roommate Thursday night at her home in the 4700 block of Jamerson Forrest Court N.E. in Marietta.

Family members of a murder Cobb County woman say it was her kindness that ultimately killed her. They were shocked to lose the woman who was mother to two sons, a daughter, and loved sister.

Police say 49-year-old Rhonda Callihan was shot to death by her roommate Thursday night. 65-year-old Dennis Robert Bredar lived with Callihan in the 4700 block of Jamerson Forrest Court N.E. in Marietta. Bredar reportedly called 911 admitted to them that he as the gunman.

Police say he was sitting out front waiting for officers to arrive. He was arrested and charged him with homicide and aggravated assault. He is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

Neighbors tell FOX 5 News that Bredar used to live next door and was going through tough times. Family members say Rhonda was such a giving person that she wanted to help. They say she never met a stranger, never judge anyone, and always tried to help when she could.

They say she adored her two sons, ages 10 and 13. She was a member of the Noon Day Baptist Church and loved to bake. They say she was baking cakes Thursday night to help support the Relay for Life in Cartersville when she was shot and killed.

The family has set up the Rhonda Callihan McInturff Memorial Fund at Fifth Third Bank through youcaring.com. The money raised will help support her sons and pay for funeral expenses.
