ATLANTA -- A former Fulton County Department of Family and Children Services worker has pleaded guilty to Medicaid fraud.

Valeriy Molokandov pleaded guilty Friday in Fulton County Superior Court to charges that he abused his position to help friends and relatives fraudulently obtain $12,000 worth of food stamps and Medicaid benefits.

He was sentenced to five years of probation and could face similar charges in Gwinnett County court.

The Georgia Attoey General's office said Molokandov was also terminated from his position.
