48 people charged in Gordon County drug trafficking sweep

GORDON COUNTY, Ga. - The Gordon County Sheriff's Office said after a month-long drug investigation, 48 people were served with arrest warrant in a raid called ”Operation SPRING CLEAN. Of the 48 served, 36 were arrested in a litany of drug and firearms charges. The remaining 12 are still at-large.

The investigation started in June 2016 and involved dozens of undercover drug purchases as well as electronic surveillance.

Sheriff’s deputies and detectives focused on the distribution of methamphetamine and other controlled substances, and seized over five pounds of methamphetamine valued at over $112,000 and a number of illegal firearms.
