Douglasville police said they have arrested a father in the death of a toddler.

Authorities say it happened at the Millwood Park Apartments located in the 8200 block of Duralee Lane in Douglasville on Tuesday. Police said the death of the 2-year-old child at one of the apartments was suspicious.

The child’s father, Courtney Chauvez Craig, 23, was charged with cruelty to children and felony murder. He was booked into the Douglas County Adult Detention Center without bond.

 

The circumstances surround the death of the toddler have not yet been released. Police said they plan to release more details during a press conference on Friday moing.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Douglasville Police are investigating the death.
