Douglas County man Marcus Somerville arrested in ‘revenge porn’ case

A woman says her ex-boyfriend sent nude and explicit photos to 300 of her to her email contacts, that included people at her work, church and her son's school.
 
 
A local reporter who spoke with Marcus Somerville Tuesday by phone, who is accused of spreading the photos told the reporter that he is innocent and denied sending the photos. He spoke before a judge Wednesday, where she found probable cause against Somerville.
 
”It was sent to my church … sent to my son's school, the victim told the reporter, asking only to be identified as Wanda.
 
Wanda said that she manages a branch of a financial institution. She appeared in a Douglas County Court Wednesday afteoon and testified against Somerville.
 
At issue is how she alleges nude and explicit photos of her appeared in the email boxes of roughly 300 of her contacts.

"I wanted to kill myself and die," Wanda said. "I don't think the nightmare ever ends."
 
Wanda says the pictures were sent to the church where she's heavily involved, her son's school where she is also active and at her work.

"I walk around and I'm always thinking, who received this horrible e-mail," Wanda said.
 
She says it also went to friends and family.

"I did not want to wake up," Wanda said. "I wanted to pretend that it was a dream."

She says the dispute began over her late payment of a loan from Somerville, an ex-boyfriend. But it escalated to an extraordinarily personal level.
 
Wanda says she has already won a $15,500 judgment in a lawsuit over the matter.
 
She went to court Wednesday seeking a misdemeanor criminal warrant against Somerville.
 
”First off, I didn’t do this. Flat out, I did not do this, Somerville told the reporter.
 
”I have never seen more sexually explicit pictures than this. I mean I don’t look at stuff like this, the judge said during Wednesday’s court proceedings.
 
”What did the judge just issue the warrant for? the reporter asked Somerville’s attoey Torris Butterfield.
 
”The judge issued the warrant for a violation of 16-11-90, which is revenge po or cyber rape, Butterfield said.
 
Somerville also won a judgment in the civil case of $2,000 plus interest. Butterfield says Wanda doesn’t deny she owed him that on the loan.
