Deputy shot by pimp Raymond Hamm while busting prostitution ring
A Clayton County deputy was shot oveight and the alleged gunman is a suspected pimp.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has taken over the investigation.
The deputy was part of a team working a prostitution sting at an apartment complex in the 6600 block of Church Street. The under cover deputies got into a confrontation with the alleged pimp. Investigators say he pulled a gun, and shot the unnamed deputy in the thigh.
The deputy was rushed to Atlanta Medical Center. His condition isn't known, but witnesses say he appeared to be alive when he left the scene.
The suspected gunman was taken into custody, as was an alleged prostitute.
According to the G.B.I, the suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Raymond Hamm. He's being held at the Henry County Jail.
