Delta Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Atlanta

A Delta flight that took off from Atlanta on Thursday blew a tire on take off and was forced to retu to the airport to make an emergency landing.

Reports of the incident first came into the Newsroom before 2 p.m. The Federal Aviation Administration says the Boeing 737 left Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Inteational Airport and was on its way to Portland when it had to tu around. The plane blew a tire on takeoff, and then circled the area buing off fuel before making a safe landing around 3 p.m.

There were no reports of injuries. A Delta spokesperson said the flight was carrying 160 passengers and six crew members. The passengers were rebooked on other flights to Portland.
