A DeKalb County high school track coach has been removed after being accused of inappropriate contact with students.

A DeKalb County high school track coach has been removed after being accused of inappropriate contact with students.

The DeKalb School System launched an inteal Investigation into Southwest DeKalb High School track coach Antoinette Tyrell after receiving a complaint from a parent.

Tyrell was suspended with pay from the school two weeks ago, pending the inteal affairs investigation.

DeKalb County Schools spokesman Walter Woods said the penalty for inappropriate conduct could be termination.

Woods said the school system would release its finding to the DeKalb County district attoey’s office to determine if charges were appropriate.

Tyrell was the Atlanta ”Track Coach of the Year in 2010.
