DeKalb to Destroy Recovered Weapons

DECATUR, Ga. - More than 200 weapons used in DeKalb County robberies and other crimes will soon be destroyed.

Dekalb County DA Robert James showed off a table full of pistols, shotguns and assault rifles that he says were used by people convicted of felonies. Officials cited armed robberies, assault and false imprisonment charges as examples.

Guns that were displayed included an AK47, AR15 and other deadly assault weapons.

James says more than 200 guns are to destroyed at Newell Recycling in Doraville. The weapons will be in cars as they are crushed.
