DeKalb County School board member Nancy Jester announced on Wednesday that she is resigning.

In her blog, Jester told supporters she wanted to resign before the State Board of Education meeting last month. But, she says she held off because she didn't want her fellow board members to have the chance to select her replacement.

Jester says she feels more comfortable with the goveor moving forward to replace suspended board members. She says she opposed the board's decision to challenge the goveor's actions in court.

Jester is among the six members Goveor Deal removed from the board last week.
