A DeKalb County police officer has been arrested hours after he was accused of a sexual assault.
 
According to the police department, the sexual assault allegation was filed Wednesday moing and was investigated by the DeKalb County Police Special Victims Unit. Hours later, officers arrested officer Darren Dye-Harriel. He has been with the department for one year.
 
Dye-Harriel was charged with aggravated sodomy, kidnapping, making false statements and violation of oath of office.
 
”I am deeply disturbed by these allegations. said Interim Chief James Conroy.  ”We will not tolerate any such criminal actions.  I am pleased with the swift investigative actions of our detectives, which led to the arrest and charges in the case.
 
Dye-Harriel has been placed on administrative leave pending an inteal investigation.
