Dekalb Father Anthony Johnson charged with DUI in crash that killed daughter
Police say a father is facing charges in a crash that killed his 15-year-old daughter late Sunday night. They say Anthony Johnson was behind the wheel when his car crashed at Highway 78 and Hugh Howell Road in DeKalb County.
According to DeKalb County authorities, Johnson was driving a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica with his four children inside when he somehow ran off the road. His car ended up in some woods just off the highway. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, according to police.
Authorities say when Johnson could not find his cell phone, he took his 8 and 9-year-old boys with him and walked to the Metro Café Diner in Stone Mountain, located nearly a mile from the crash site. The family called for help from the diner. Restaurant staff told FOX 5 the family said they had just been in an accident.
"They looked really terrible. First, I thought they were hungry and looking for food to eat," said Naima Zerrouki of the Metro Cafe Diner.

Zerrouki says the 8-year-old boy kept saying his sister had died.
Johnson's 15-year-old daughter, Corliss, was killed in the accident, and his 11-year-old daughter was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. She is listed in critical condition.
The two young boys were also taken to an area hospital. One was treated and released, while the other was kept oveight for observation.
Restaurant staffers said that Johnson told them that two cars hit his vehicle, sending it off the road. Police said that they had no evidence of any other vehicles being involved in the crash.
Anthony Johnson faces charges including DUI and vehicular homicide. He also faces a charge of failing to maintain lanes.
