DeKalb County Police Arrest Two Suspected Carjackers
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - DeKalb County police have arrested two suspected carjackers.
The pair are accused of targeting a man and woman who were driving home from work late Thursday night on Covington Highway.
A late night trip home from work tued into terror.
The father of one of the victims says his daughter works at a Lenox Square clothing store.
She apparently asked her manager for a ride home. As they were driving along Covington Highway in DeKalb County the pair was carjacked. The robbers forced the female into the backseat while the male manager stayed upfront.
With one of the carjackers behind the wheel, they drove down Covington Highway going from bank to bank, trying to force the victims to take out money at ATMs.
When the car got near a Pizza Hut on Covington Highway, the manager jumped out of the car and took off running. He ended up getting shot in the butt.
The carjackers also took off. Police stopped them at the intersection of Covington Highway and Scarabrough Drive.
They were being questioned into the moing hours.
The female worker was not harmed. Her parents came to the scene and picked her up.
The manager was taken to Grady Hospital. His condition is not known. No names have been released in connection with the incident.
